Faculty Advising The department has Faculty Directors for each of its graduate programs as well as a staff advisor. These individuals are responsible for resolving all matters related to the economics department's graduate programs, including the following:
Once a graduate student has determined their specific area of interest/study, typically they select the faculty member whose research closely matches their interest. Faculty conduct research in many varied areas and the staff advisor or the program director can help students to decide who the appropriate faculty might be. At the beginning of each academic year, the department conducts an orientation for each graduate program track. Students are strongly encouraged to contact the staff advisor for information specific to their needs. DEPARTMENTAL INFO SESSIONS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTSFor more information about the application process and our Ph.D., M.S. and Pathway Dual Degree programs in Economics, we encourage you to attend the Departmental Info Session scheduled during the fall quarter.
