Faculty

The UCSC economics faculty have research programs in a variety of areas, ranging from the effects of international trade on the environment, to the economic aspects of legal institutions, and the sources of business entrepreneurship, to name but a few examples. The individual faculty research contact information and interests can be found below. Faculty member research results are circulated via the Department's working paper series and publications in academic journals. Research activities are also conducted under the auspices of the Santa Cruz Center for International Economics and the Learning and Experimental Economics Projects of Santa Cruz.

The Department's faculty members have been very succesful in obtaining research support, including a number of grants from the National Science Foundation, the Department of Labor, and the University of California Pacific Rim Research Program.

Several of the faculty have served as consultants or visiting fellows at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Federal Reserve Board, the International Monetary Fund, the Institute for International Economics, and the Bank for International Settlements. They have also served in governmental posts in the Federal Reserve Board and the White House.
